Bio: Mary Porter is a current Junior in in the college studying Classics, Anthropology, and pursuing the Pre-Medicine track. She pursued music and personal interests in history in science while growing up in Utah. During her time at Emory, she has studied Greek and Latin from the introductory levels and received both the CAMWS Award for Outstanding Accomplishment within the Classics department and a CAMWS translation contest Certificate of Commendation. In addition to her studies, she is also deeply involved with community service, and has served as a vice president for the service organization Alpha Phi Omega. She is currently studying in Rome with the Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies and will spend the summer participating in an archaeological excavation with the Balkan Heritage Field School in Montenegro. Looking forward, she hopes to complete the MCAT and apply to a master’s programs in Classics.
