Major(s): Japanese and Biology

Bio: Ju Mi Ha is a junior at Emory University studying Biology and Japanese. She was born in South Korea and moved to Long Island when she was 12. Her interest in Japanese culture led her to take Japanese 101 in her first semester at Emory. She has participated in Japanese Speech Contest in 2017 and 2018, winning third place in category I and second place in category II respectively. In addition to her studies, she has been devoting her time working in a biochemistry lab in Emory School of Medicine, and working on various Korean English translation projects in her free time. She also has a wide array of interests, including photography, film, writing and traveling. She believes that learning a new language allows her to see the world from a new perspective by having a deeper understanding of another culture.
