Excelling in Language Studies Award, German

Student Name: Max Wang

Major(s): BBA (Finance & International Business) and German Studies

Bio: Max Wang is a third year BBA student concentrating in Finance and International Business with
a double major in German Studies. He was born in Chicago and grew up in the western suburbs
until college. Since the 9th grade, Max has been an avid learner of the German language,
distinguishing his passion for the subject through taking part in his high school’s German club
and continuing on to become president of Emory’s. At Emory, Max knew from the start that he
would major in German Studies to further his passion in German language and culture and he
has met a slew of welcoming, invaluably knowledgable faculty, staff, and fellow students along
the way. Ultimately, Max wants to start his career in the field of business, while ideally
incorporating German within this line of work, potentially even exploring options in Europe to do
so. Going into his final year of university, Max will continue leading the German Culture Club
and working closely with the department to both write an honors thesis and stay in close
contact, as he is especially eager to make the most of the in-person school year.
